Fighters Who Seemed Unusually Huge At a Given Weight

    Obviously excluding heavyweights, of course. I was watching some 80s fights the other day, and when I was watching Duran-Barkley and Hearns-Barkley I, one thing I couldn't get over was how massive Barkley looked, even next to Hearns. His upper body looked like it belonged to a light heavyweight or cruiserweight. Duran looked like a featherweight next to Barkley in that fight.

    Are there any other guys you all can remember who just seemed unnaturally massive at a certain weight division?

    Yeah Barkley was a big middleweight.

    McClellan was another one who would cut massive amounts of weight.

    There have been loads of "big" boxers. I'm not sure what the question is asking.

    Yeah, sorry about that. I guess the question would be better phrased by asking more who seemed to be the physically biggest fighters you can remember in each division, to the point where you noticed that more than anything else about them.

    Paul Williams at Welterweight was like that for a little while.

    Didn't really get the question at first and thought of Juan Diaz. Oh well. I could never believe Diaz was that flabby as a lightweight having the same height and dimensions as Barerra/Pacquiao. Not that he was big, but he looked like he should weight more given he was a little chubby.

    A lot of fighters lie about their heights too. Gamboa is listed as 5'4" on his mugshot.

    Fighter who SEEMS unusually huge at a given weight...

    Jose Benavidez jr.... 5'11" at Light Welterweight...
    he's not scrawny like a Paul Williams or a Celestino Caballero, he's pretty muscular and a physical monster in the ring...
    i imagine him getting up to Middleweight fully matured in his 30's...

    McClellan could weigh 180+ in middleweight title fights and remain chiseled.

    Michael Watson looked humungous against Lee and McCallum, peaky hard bi/tri/delt muscles.

    Chris Eubank looked massive against Benn in their rematch (esp his back muscles), like a ripped light-heavy/cruiser (which in essence, he was).

    Mike Jones. I saw a weigh in photo once and I swore this guy was either under 5'10" or weighing in at middleweight. Can't believe a 6' welterweight can look like that.

    Currently Mike Jones looks enormous, not sure if he's just top heavy but hes a very big 147

    McClelland & Gatti both cut a huge amount of weight & looked massive in the ring

    Khan was a very big LW. 5'10 with a 17" neck but weighed 135?

    Gatti was huge at 130 and 135. So was De La Hoya. Hell, Gatti weighed 160 unofficially on fight night when he supposedly weighed in at 141.

    Mosley at 135 was damn big as well.
