Fighters who should have been great

  1. I always thought Yori Boy Campas should have been great. He had great power and stamina. Unfortunately, his subpar game plans ruined his career. He would basically just come forward even when he was hurt.

good call:good fernando vargas should have been great to be sure, even tyson to a lesser extent failed to live up.

for me, i have to give a big shout out to zab judah: most talent in the post jones era and nothing to show for it

Gerald McClellan. Shame what happened during the fight with Benn.

oh donald curry...you had EVERYTHING. he was one of the most spectacular fighters i've ever seen. he just competed in one of the best eras for his weights and didn't move up to 154 soon enough

i know under every other circumstance, beating bhop twice would mean you've had a great career...but just think how close jermain was to being more than great. he was that close to finishing pav in their first fight (as much as i love jt i was pulling for pav) and he was seconds away from a smw strap over froch.

its amazing he has such an awesome opportunity to salvage possible greatness w/ this tourney. i'm pulling for him bigtime.

talent, heart and training he's got in spades but for some reason JT rarely puts it all together. like you said he's so close to being great and i love him for giving it one last chance. you have to love the guy

as excited as i am for these smw tourney fights...i am very pumped for jt/aa. just the thought of someone who was so close getting another shot like this...that doesnt happen often. in fact it rarely happens. i'll be wearing a path in the floor during that fight :yep

haha, AA is the guy i honestly think he has the second best chance against (i honestly see him dominating ward). It'll be a great fighter if JT can stick to a gameplan

The obvious Zab Judah.... hard to believe a guy with that speed and that power, with skills to go with it, isnt a top p4p fighter.
