Buster Douglas was great for his unforgetable performance against Mike Tyson. Would have been nice to see it last a little longer.
I think he could/should have. He managed to make the baddest man on the planet look completely beatable and he looked impressive doing it. In interviews for ESPN classic, Douglas recounts the great sense of inspiration he had for that fight after his mother's passing. Had he trained and fought with the same inspiration in his subsequent fights, he could have been great. Certainly the skills were there - yes?
U may be right. Tyson was in his prime and was incredibly skilled and gifted. Maybe Douglas could have been great.
