What boxers do you feel should write autobiogrphies? as you feel they have had a real interesting life etc. For Me Ron Lyle, never started boxing until the age of 29. had his death certificant wrote out, but comeback to life. was jailed for murder. captiend team usa in the amature and eneding up fighting ali. what a crazy life. Mike McCaullum Bennie Briscoe
Jersey Joe Walcott's bio should be written. Did a quick search and didn't find one, but he had a Cinderalla Story himself. Working at a cannery when he got the title shot at Louis. Got himself the recognition he deserved in his rebirth... Also, Paul Spadafora. Talk about a flawed protagonist, a guy who's hard to approve of. Shot his girlfriend in the chest (accidentally?) outside a Pittsburgh convenience store in the wee smalls after a night of intense partying and has never reclaimed his career.
The one I most want to read is Mike Tyson. That man is capable of serious honesty. I know he's not well but it would still be a fascinating read, likely more so. Also. There's money in it. And that man needs money, and then he needs to try to get out of the limelight.
Absolutely. I know there's a documentary coming out on him. Saw Mike on Charlie Rose with the director James Tomack. Mike is a very intelligent guy. I know many don't see it, but communication skills, and even behavior isn't all of it. Precisely because Mike doesn't possess great communication skills forces him to see and relate in a mutated, creative way. You guys mark my words ... when enough of us have seen this thing to fuel the buzz there will be people calling him a genius.
Also a book should be written on carlos monzon, pernell whitaker should write a book, also dwight muhammed qwai should write one
I've said this before, that it's INSANE that there hasn't been a book on Carlos Monzon yet...especially, for God's sake by a Latin writer and particularly an Argentine writer.
I don't know if there are any books written on these fighters, but I surely like to read something on...Willie Pastrano, Joey Giardello, Jose Napoles, the previously mentioned Sweet Pea Whitaker, Emile Griffith, Wilfred Benitez and Wilfredo Gomez.
Kassim Ouma Bernard Hopkins Leon Spinks Mike Tyson Dwight Muhammad Qawi Tex Cobb I would've said Wilfred Benitez, but unfortunately I doubt he can remember much to write a bio. :verysad
theres been so many documentries and books on tyson i have lost count. but you are right, it would be a money spinner
