Peter McNeely vs Mike Tyson and for 700k with such a padded record who can blame him. Lots of bets for fight to last less than 1 1/2 minutes(corner retired him at 1min29 seconds). Paul Briggs vs Danny Green blatant dive massive betting plunge for 1st round KO(Briggs performed the worst dive ever from a grazing shot to his hair after just 29 seconds).
Every white fighter that Jack Johnson fought as HW Champ, thereby ignoring any and all black fighters. His excuse (and it was probably a good one) that he wouldn't make any money fighting a black man. Thus, he took the good paydays rather than competitive bouts. That's a sellout in my book. Makes economic sense but still...a sell out.
:think Gatti vs De La Hoya? I remember hearing that Gatti was considered to be done at that point. I dont believe that Gatti himself ever took a fight just for the money, but i believe that his team threw him under the bus.
