I know James Toney did minimum bagwork/padwork and conditioning exercises and relied almost exlusively on sparring. I dont think this is a bad idea... personally i recently started doing some conditioning work..loads of bagwork and padwork. even some technique work. but once i stepped into the ring for some sparring after quite awhile i was AWFUL. the timing just wasnt there and i felt like a fish out of water. I have come to the conclusion that a fighter can prepare for battle just by sparring. But the conditioning shouldnt be neglected because it will compliment the boxing. which other fighters would spar alot to prepare for a fight? I know arreola is another, looks fat and out of shape but is fighting fit....to an extent
terry norris and his brother spent so much ****ing time sparring it's a miracle he could do anything else at all in camp
