Mosley in the Forrest rematch. That was when we first saw Mosley had some dog in him. He fought scared in that fight which I didnt think Id ever see.

Quitali Quitschko did quit on his quitting-stool VS a featherfisted blown-up supermiddleweight who was kicking his ass, pushing him onto teh backfoot And raping him in teh last half of teh fight. But boo hoo, he hurt his left-hand, so simply had to do a disgraceful quitjob with only 3 rounds to go.

Wasn't the thread supposed to be about people that talked smack and acted all hard before a fight only to then not fire a shot?

At least that's how I interpreted it.

A lot of these examples are just people who quit or gave a meek display in a fight. I mean it's hard to imagine Alexis Arguello or even Shane Mosley talking trash pre-fight.

hamed was still landing but wasnt getting mab to throw which led to him being shutout. 4 - 8 rounds. but he was still trying with what he had left, to land something.
i dont think he was gutless i think he was just too overconfident and wasn't listening to anybody. manny steward just couldn't get to him. naz planting uppercuts on to a speed bag :patsch. but gutless no.

Vaden-Norris....well have you heard the backstory to this...its interesting and complicated but vaden was out with terrys wife. i think he was a bit guilty and just swallowed it while norris landed crisp combos and covered. i dont think he was gutless he was apologetic if anything

gonzalez, see above x2. considered himself as the best fighter to lace glove...seriously. not even jokingly. he was just going to obliterate bowe. after bowe stopped throwing...bowe didnt stop throwing.

frietas - diaz is rediculas. he is outpointing diaz. and juan just stays on top of him for too long so he mulls it over and stops fighting...why:blood you have it in the bag,

Bramble vs. Rosario.. I don't blame him since Rosario hit so hard, but I was surprised that Bramble, who said he was so tough and couldn't be stopped, could be demolished and quit like he did.

Chavez against Randall in their second fight was pretty bad. Chavez knew Frankie was gonna beat him again so he used the headbutt as an escape to a clear robbery win. You can even hear the doctor say "he doesn't want to continue" when the doctor clearly said he could.

Someone before mentioned Mosley. Love the guy, he won me a lot of money, but I lost a ton betting on him as well. First he talked big game in the Forrest rematch and failed to deliver with a half ass performance. Then he "wins" the De La Hoya rematch. Talks big about giving Wright a chance when no-one else will only to lose to Winky twice. Then his comeback trail and beating Vargas twice only to **** it out against Cotto. Then destroys Margarito, and once again fails against Mayweather.

I agree. Surprised me a lot to see Barrera act like that.

I'm not sure he could adapt against Pacquaio though, or maybe he just didnt want to leave it all in the ring again. He showed plenty of heart in Jones 2, Morales and Mkkinney. Fighters usually have less heart as they age

We can't say for sure because he didn't even try.

I think Barrera had slipped into a bit of a comfort zone post-Hamed.As you say the heart wasn't there anymore.

Sugar Ramos physical overwhelming and bludgeoning KO10 Barrera:yep

Yeah, that's exactly how it went down...except for the part where Vitali was dominating the fight.

So, should we also rank SRR as gutless when he quit against Joey Maxim? He only had to stay on his feet for 2 rounds.
