That time he was KO'd by a 180 pound balding Limey was pretty bad.

he wasn't kod. He was knocked down, recovered and dominated.

People are really grasping at straws trying to downplay Ali's greatness.

Grasping at Angelo Dundee opening up Ali's glove to stall and get a new glove and stall the beginning of the 5th because Ali was bad shape? No, I don't think so.

this story has been grossly exaggerated for years. The actual delay was 6 seconds at most. No, Ali wasn't knocked out. Nor was Cooper going to knock him out under any circumstances.

Duran. Against De Jesus anyway. It's a good thing it wasn't Ike Williams landing those hooks on him.

Absolutely, I have the live radio commentary on tape, The glove wasn’t changed, minimal delay, as you say.
This nonsense has been debunked many times, making it astonishing that purported, boxing people, continue to dig it up!
Teddy Atlas, churned it out in his weekly podcast, last month, without challenge from his son, co-hosting the show!
Clay came out in the fifth, full of smelling salts from Dundee, stopping him in his predicted round. Padding being clearly seen flying from the glove in the fight film.

Top post, and bang on as always.

He went 41 rounds with histories greatest left hooker, a guy who put pressure on you all night long. Lets see others go 41 rounds with Frazier and not get continually hit with left hooks. As you say, Liston had a renowned ATG left hook and only hit him cleanly once or twice with it. Foreman had a great left hook and didn't land much to the head. Floyd Patterson was another he faced with a sterling left hook and Kenny Norton had an excellent hook as well.
