Roy Jones Jr - i mean he did use it but lead a lot with his left hooks.

Tyson - again had a good jab but didn't always use it.

I think He abandoned it at some point, probably as He switched training teams. Teddy Atlas would always use prime Mike as an example that short man can be very effective with a jab.

I only saw a few of Chang, but yep, maybe Jung Koo Chang, his jabs are pretty tame as they're more of a cover to disguise Chang's boring in.

And also Khaosai Galaxy, probably borderline ATG but his jab is nonexistent, uses his lead hand more as a probing weapon.

I don't know if Wajima should be included as an ATG (although he might be borderline IBHOF material),but yeah, his jab is practically nonexistent as he was a self taught boxer, like Chang, when he tries to jab he either uses it as a feint or it straight up transformed into a hook.

Frazier when your lead hook is that good, he threw a record low amount of jabs in FOTC

The jab is so important in boxing, they say those that control the left - controls the world.

Off the top of my head: Mike Tyson and Joe Frazier both used the jab rather rarely and unorthodoxly to the typical boxer.

Does he count as an ATG but Shane Mossley's wasn't great. Manny Steward references it in one of his fights, maybe Margatio or Floy,d something to do with his wrist... can't remember exactly now but Manny said he didn't have a great jab.

Naz tended to just launch bombs and awkward uppercuts - again, was he an ATG tho? A British one maybe

It wasn’t a stand out, it was ordinary by comparison to the rest of what he was capable of and other fighters commented on it.

Someone earlier said Shane Mosley ….and I think that’s interesting because…Lightweight Shane Mosley reminds me a lot of Sugar Ray Robinson

Didn't Greb and Flowers use a short-punching, mauling style.

Subject to how you rate him but Max Baer displayed next to no jab.

With his overall dimensions, including an 82” reach, an educated jab would’ve come in very handy for Max.

If I were a pro boxer, two prerequisites for me would be to have overall above average power and a sterling jab.

It’s very bemusing to see some boxers establish themselves with the jab during a fight only to later abandon the very cornerstone for their successes - seeming to forget that their prior successes during the fight were all based off the jab.

I saw DLH fall off his jab in several fights only to make his life that much harder in the later rounds.

Perhaps they were fights when DLH was getting on and literally could no longer maintain the jab like he used to - like all other applications, a well maintained and effective jab takes effort and excellent stamina.
