I think he did, to a certain degree.

 

A writer once asked Sugar Ray Robinson what his toughest fight was and he said "Fusari". The writer said that he beat Fusari with ease. Robinson replied "but I had to fight 15 rounds for him and 15 rounds for me"

 

He was always one shot away from being KO'd.

Not a situation where you want to do much carrying.

Don't think he had Larry in that much trouble, probably shook him hard a couple of times.

 

He never had Larry in any real trouble, but he was a monster puncher, so Larry had to be careful.

I think Larry would want to end matters as early as possible.

 

I think Norris carried Leonard after he put him down a few times. I don't think Ray goes the distance that night if Terry didn't have mercy on him.

 

I don't think he carried Mildenberger I think his southpaw style bothered him. Dempsey definitely took it easy on Carpentier for a couple of rounds to do as Rickard suggested , give the fans a bit of a run for their money.

 

Lennox Lewis said he carried Tyson, hell even Manny Steward knew this and told Lewis to get him out of there.

 

Hearns was carried in the Hacker fight. Actually, just after the fight.

Could it be that Lewis was just being ultra cautious against even this shot version of Tyson until he was sure he had wore him down enough that he knew he was no threat in the fight? I always had this feeling that Lewis was always somewhat wary of Tyson from the way he spoke about him especially when Lewis was on the way up during his career.

 

Again living in fantasy world..Manny was petrified that Tyson was still in their( reliving the Lewis McCall fight...you know that Tyson sparring partner)...anyhow....lewis was afraid/cautious like he was with Mercer to get caught ( also remembering Tommy Morrison fight) where Mercer was very focused and Morrison was not....

Lewis balked his career bc of M.Tyson he self admitted to never getting the best Tyson when he was knocking everyone out left and right in the 80's,so did Holyfield who stated THAT Tyson was near unbeatable...this isnt up for debate with logical ppl...its just not.

 

Lewis afterwards said he wanted to punish Tyson, we all know Mikey loses the sting in his punches when the rounds pass by. Just look at the Douglas knockdown, he caught glass chinned Buster with the perfect shot yet Douglas was more angry than hurt and it showed because the very next round he proceeded to beat the living daylights out of Tyson.

By the time Lewis had finished playing with Mike like a cat plays with a mouse he ended the fight with one punch. When Tyson came around to his senses he acknowledged to Lennox and the world that the Brit was his master whilst he gently rubbed the sweat off his conquerors head, very touching to say the least.
