Fighters who were carried.

Chavez definitely carried Greg Haugen for a few rounds before destroying him in front of 100,000 + fans in Aztec Stadium.

 

Holmes carried Ali. Holmes had openly stated that Ali was his idol.

 

Ali was very cruel in some ways. I don't think the women in his life would've been an exception !

 

I thought he absolutely hammered Ali viciously to the body with hooks. Ali had a high guard for majority of the fight, I think that's why he went to the body so much. I honestly think it's a load of sh@te when Holmes said he carried him. It didn't look it to me

 

Yet he often contradicts that by saying that he was a better fighter and could have beaten Ali years before in the 70s.That he knew in sparring around the mid 70s that he was better than Ali and that's why they fired him as a sparring partner. Sometimes he sounds like a man jealous of the fame and adulation that Ali received than someone that supposedly looked up to him.

 

Yeah I agree. Holmes fought like a man who wanted to punish Ali for getting all the attention and popularity that he could never get. Probably also wanted to show that he wasn't lying when he said that he more often than not,got the better of Ali in sparring years before that.

 

Sugar Ray Robinson carried quite a few fighters on Mafia orders. He carried Henry Armstrong because he loved Hank and idolized him as a kid.

Marco Antonio Barrera seemed to carry his buddy Johnny Tapia.

 

More recently Pacquiao carried Margarito.
