Hmmmm... I would question that one. Prior to the Olivares fight, he had beaten the likes of Jose Medel, Chucho Castillo, and Alan Rudkin in quick succession, all of whom were noted punchers to some degree. I think a bigger problem for him was finding a suitable weight class (which probably would've been junior featherweight, had it existed then), plus the Olivares fight may have taken something out of him.

I was just about to say the same...Bobick was a disapointment as a pro, easy to hit and ordinary skills, very stand up style, lack of head movement or rytym

Terry Norris fought and did well against strong punchers, such as Vince Pettaway who kayoed Simon Brown with one punch and Jorge Castro who change the outcome of his fight with John David Jackson with one single punch that eventually led to Jackson being laid out in that very same round.

Actually, it was thought that the Chucho Castillo fight, in which Castillo decked Rose in the 10th, may have softened Rose up for Olivares. This naturally was the opinion of Castillo himself after Olivares won the title from Rose. It's also a fact that a non-puncher like Takeo Sakuari decked Rose in thier 15 rounder just prior to the Castillo fight, and that may have signalled perhaps an erosion of Lionel's ability to take a punch, or at least heralded a gradual decline of his chin, which Olivares most brutally exploited.
