Xcept 4 d professional wrestling era of Dempsey & Langford , which era wasn't such n era ? idiots really put stock in decision losses , look @ yourself considering McCall & Tua as journeymen . Tua was never really beaten as a pro , d closest 2 being beaten was his inability 2 land anything on d 2 big 4 him Lewis , but he wasn't getting really hurt either , Xcept 4 1 occasion maybe . Regarding McCall , quite a similar case , with his biggest loss that i've seen coming against Bruno by decision .

I believe that until he is about sixty it is impossible to look good against Bernard Hopkins.

Dude - simply look at the times of Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles etc. Those guys could knock up some losses and it wasn't neccessarily monumental. They were fighting so often and has so many intangibles. When a prospect like Bobby Czyz lost his first fight they near had a wake. The amount theye were fighting you sat on that loss for quite some time, and some safe opposition would then be utilised for a while as well. It could be a real time consuming setback. Moore would shrug it off and jam straight into the next top opponent.

I don't believe i have even mentioned Tua and McCall :hey

How about a shout for Mike the Bounty Hunter? The big thing with him was the reluctance of managers to put their heavy in with such a spoiler--far easier to select a face first opponent than Hunter. But he sure could nullify the other guy's offense.

I always thought when he was a cruiser, JC Gomez mau have fit the bill. And Maske at lh when he was on his run. Man, those guys were so hard to hit and they just countered everything the other guy did. Very very tough guys to deal with, let alone look good against.

I had a chance to chat with Kevin Rooney sometime before the Tyson-Spinks fight. He mentioned Tyson had been sparring with Mike-the-bounty-hunter. I said, Mike "The Bounty Hunter" Who?, thinking it was a nickname. He explained. It was a few more years before Hunter got any real exposure, or at least before he came across my radar.

Bigfoot Martin, he was good at stopping KO streaks.
