With Christie was it just a chin issue? I wa a young and can remember his fight vs Kaylor and one when he got sparked in under a minute from a Belgian iirc

I think Salmon Eye put him in with a light heavy when he was still a light middle (that Belgian) and he was never the same, though Cod Eye argues it was all the hard sparring at Kronk that weakened his chin.

Domestic fighter Scott Cattle was notorious for been a gym fighter. And although not bad when he fought under the bright lights, every one a round him said he sparred far better

The brutal Kronk sessions did irreparable damage.

    Paul Spadafora.

The sparring story of him getting the better of Mayweather springs to mind.

    All of em.

Special mention for Big Pricey though, by all accounts (Bellew) he knocked everyone out every time he sparred.

Jamie Cox and David Price are the first that spring to mind.

As I have said before ( a few times ) would rather watch a good hard spar, than some actual fights, one that springs to mind is Eubanks Jnr and the immensely modest Carl Froch, Jnr gives out just as much as he gets, maybe more so, who would have thunk it !! keep well.

Didn't Joe Laws claim he dominated Devin Haney in sparring and gave most of they elite at 135 a tough time before the Rylan Charlton fight?

Didn't seem to do him much good.

Eubank Jr is a great candidate for this actually. We heard all the stories of him bashing Groves, DeGale and Cleverly about for fun (when still a novice!)

We’ve seen very little evidence of this amazing ability in prize rings all these years.
