Paul Sykes was a nasty bully and a proper scumbag. He had a few pro contests.

In terms of elite boxers, Gerald McClellan's supposed activities in dog fighting, e.g. feeding defenceless dogs to his fighting dogs in the name of "training", tends to evoke a strong, emotive and negative reaction in a lot of people (rightly so, imo).

 

Sykes raped young prisoners.

 

I heard the Hilton brothers were scum on this forum but I forget for what for. Michael Dokes. Ike Ibeabuchi

 

Yes, it was those stories that were foremost in my mind when I cited him.

That and stories like getting an ordinary bloke to dance on a table, in front of the poor guys wife and kids, for his amusement in a pub. By all accounts he was an extreme bully.

Turned his back, thereby effectively quitting, in a boxing ring vs John Gardner. So, big, powerful man as he undoubtedly was, perhaps not so tough when he met his match.

 

One of them supposedly was guilty of incest with a daughter.

I do get awful tired of hearing about the, “tragedy” of Gerald McClellan’s fate, though. Whenever I’m having a bad day, I remind myself to think of him, & smile.

& there are worse in Boxing’s history. Plenty.

 

Jo-el Scott a big punching former heavy weight prospect who raped and killed a defenseless homeless woman half his size.

James Butler is another scumbag, after losing a clear decison to Richard Grant he hits him on the back of the head instead of congratulating him.

Nothing compared to him killing Max Kellerman´s brother who had been kind enough to put him up after he became homeless.

Both are serving long prison sentences.

 

I forgot about the Butler-Grant incident. Weak as it gets. That’s why people like that are so angry in life. They have to live with the piece of **** in the mirror.

 

Apparently George Foreman was a big time mugger and this is why he was so mean and effective in the ring. I heard it on another thread.

Yeah, he grew up mugging people in the Fifth Ward of Houston.
