Fighters who were scum

Even if you're right ( anything is possible) , where did you hear this from ?

 

The place I heard those accusations from is here. Someone claimed “Dempsey was paid to break in virgins at the brothel” and someone else said “well Tyson did that too, for free”

I’ve heard about him bouncing at the brothel, but I have not heard those accusations elsewhere. I figured (and also hope) it’s probably just made up.

Jim Brown had a similar incident. He was suspected of tossing his girlfriend off a balcony.

Both he and her claim she fell. It might be true, but his history is not exactly one that inspires confidence in giving him the benefit of the doubt.

 

The "mutual fall" was a fairy tale concocted by Monzon's defense.

The investigation determined Mozon strangled his wife and throwed her from the balcon, jumping afterwards in order to build his alibi.

 

Great fighter maybe but a vile, nasty human being he most definitely was.

That video is amazing. The way Berbick is in a screaming stupor & then you hear a scream, the camera swivels, & Holmes appears out of the darkness like the Cloverfield monster. Glorious.

During the late 1960's, Sonny was at least lauded for his kindness and love towards children. Over the last four decades though, Liston would be excoriated savagely and suspected as a pedophile for that.

 

The amount of cognitive dissonance required for sports star worship on such a level that Sonny Liston of all people is viewed as a good person is staggering.
