Antonio Margarito doesn't have an amazing KO percentage but has stopped quite a few decent level opponents through overwhelming accumulation of damage. I think he's worth a shout.

Evander as well, though I think his power is a little underrated generally.

    Good point.

Some technical boxers are content to coast to a decision, while others preffer to take it out of the judges hands.

    The former is a weakness.

some say Hagler did not punch hard, yet his knockout percentage was higher than Hearns. They ended ups with the same amount of fights 67, yet Hagler stopped I think 54 guys and Hearns stopped 49.

Fernando Vargas stopped 22 of 26 wins, but was never really a big puncher. Likewise Shane Mosley (39 in 46) generally wasn't a huge one-punch ko specialist.

Gary Mason (37-1 (34)) wasn't as big a puncher as his record would indicate.

I'm a new fan. What's the difference between a puncher and someone who is heavy handed?

Heavy hands to a boxing man means just that: You've got big hands.

The general term refers to power from strength, though the size of your mitts has a huge effect on how hard you hit. Think about the huge fat guy you see on the bus; You might not fear his fighting ability, but your natural instincts would tell you getting hit by him isn't pleasant, and those instincts would be correct.

The switch off sort of knockout is as much speed and form as it is strength and killer intentions. The guys without the speed of the mechanics to achieve this result can still beat you down. A brute force sort of shot HURTS; It causes real pain, real distress, and you stay hit. Get caught with many of those over a long night, and it just breaks you down, whereas a true KO shot is generally not remembered as being painful or uncomfortable, just a switch flipped after you've been concussed by a beauty.

Mosley was a huge puncher sub WW. Above that this he had a much harder time getting the KO.

    Phenomenal body attack, too.

Fighters just aren't prepared to weather what a lightweight Shane Mosley did to the rib cage. Accounted for a vast bulk of his stoppage victories.

One of the most underrated body punchers of all time, in that he should be considered on the JCC level.

I disagree. I think Shane Mosley was a huge puncher, and one of the more underrated body punchers of recent years.

EDIT: ah, beat me to it!

Valero, bums and his come forward style are the main reason he has KOd them all.
