I haven't seen this one mentioned yet but Vassily Jirov comes to mind. One of my friends trained with him in Arizona and talked about what a badass he was and how hard he trained. Look at his losses, Toney had him badly hurt to the body in the 12th round and he pulled himself off the deck to finish. Mesi was comfortably ahead going into the final round and Jirov threw everything he had at him and nearly stopped him in the last round. Moorer hit him high on the temple with a shot that would have put a lot of guys out cold and he pulled himself up and tried to continue.

Most of the other guys I would have said have already been mentioned but I have ton of respect for the fighting heart of Vassily Jirov.

I believe you. I remember him asking Holmes for a rematch after the fight.

He looked more bruised and cut than concussed. One tough SOB. Larry Holmes did everything but jump off the top of the ropes to get Cobb out of there but nothing worked.

I think his training camps were relatively fine. It was his time in between training camps that were disastrous for him. Also, having a bulged L-5 disc doesnt help.

But ya I get your point. Overall, his lack of discipline in his personal life hurt him.

It's pure story making. I've seen the same look in just about every fighter when they get knocked down and they go on. He didn't complain much but he did not quit.

I wonder if Manny felt the pain during the fight or after the adrenaline had worn off.
    Margarito was definitely in hell.
