Flip it around the other way....wouldn't Tyson be scared of Foreman since his mentor had warned him to avoid Foreman, and Mike had seen Frazier being used like a basketball for the 1973 NBA All-Star game down in Kingston.

All fighters have to conceal their fear when they climb into the ring.

Many, maybe most fighters were somewhat intimidated by Iron Mike.

And many from other eras would have been.

A more interesting question might be: Which fighters would have intimidated a prime Tyson ?

I'll start the ball rolling with LISTON...FOREMAN...

    (No thread steal)

    Good Post.

All fighters have fear before they enter the ring. Alot of guys walk in pretty damn nervous. Look at Holyfield before the first Tyson fight. When they are introducing him look at his eyes. He looks like he's filled with doubt or possibly even scared. Then look at him in the 2nd fight; full of confidence unwavering self belief.

Tyson despite having low self esteem and incredible self belief in his professional ability. His level confidence was to the point of hubris. There were times he didn't train because he didn't think he needed to. I don't think he would have feared anyone in his heyday though.

I would say it was quite the opposite. Tyson was scared of Lewis.

Tyson has only ever commented that he was intimidated by Liston.

I posted a thread on here recently regarding Bill Caytons fight plan for Tyson. Foreman WAS on that list. So i dont think Tyson was ducking him.

Tyson fought Spinks, Holmes, Holyfield and Lewis, he didnt fight Bowe or Foreman.
Foreman fought Holyfield and thats it and didnt fight any of the above mentioned.

Foreman said he was scared of Frazier and yet demolished him, against Tyson he was saying he could do this and do that, but he didnt did he, i wonder why.

Well peopel always say Tyson won his fights purely on fear, so i asked who people would suspect of coming in sh*t scared

Im not talking about a little bit of fear inside etc etc

im talking more Spinks, Bruno, Seldon "ive **** my pants" type fear

I can't see an old Foreman being scared of Tyson.

I somehow doubt that Foreman really was intimidated by Frazier and Norton. Like a few posters have opined,I believe that he was just being polite.

True :good Tyson looked like he would rather be in Hades, while he was waiting for the first bell to ring before the Lewis fight.

I wasn't referring to Grandpa Foreman, on the comeback trail after a 10 year layoff.

I was speaking of the Foreman who KO'd Frazier.

Maybe because the fight never got made ?
