HW division brings a lot of arguments, which I'm not sure of those who will argue for a point that they were once against. I'd say its hypocrisy if a person constantly flips the debate. But a true fan of the game IMO can argue both sides of the coin. Ali Great or Not so great. Ali was the greatest. Olympic gold medalist Youngest man to win the WH title at 22. First man to win the HW titles 3 times. Superb reflexes, lightening jab and could slash you with his quickness Beat champions like Archie Moore, Floyd Patterson, Sonnie Liston, Joe Frazier, Ken Norton, George Foreman, Leon Spinks. Ali Pfftt! Wouldn't that great. He won the title at 22, but look at the rematch and tell me that sh$#!t wasn't a setup? Phantom punch my azz. He beat Archie Moore in 1962. Yeah so....Moore was born in 1916 for christ sake & his 1st fight was in 1935----12 years b4 clay was born. Dropped by Cooper so Dundee cheated his azz off & ripped his glove to buy time. Virtually all of ringside observers says he lost to Doug Jones in a toe-to-toe slugfest. he beat an undersized-13-year-over-the-hill out of prime-Floyd Patterson He moved straight back, never, ever went to the body and you call that a skilled fighter? No wonder he went life and death with everyone, Angelo couldn't train him to do anything else. Once youth betrayed his reflexes, he layed on the rope like a dope. He lost to Frazier who never won more than 32 fights. Arguably lost to Norton 3 times & When Ken won the WBC It was vacant and he lost his 1st defense against Ali's sparring partner, Holmes. Norton got KTFO'd by Forman, Shavers, Cooney and robbed Tex Cob in a controversial SD. SO who did Ken beat other than ALi? Quarry? Ali fought a dude with 8 wins, Leon Spinks and Lost. Everybody whooped Leon. Ali outpointed him. And if Forman had never come out of retirement to beat China-Chin Moorer, he had the same wins as Ali: Frazier & Norton. Had to get up off the canvas against Lyle who never won a title and was outboxed by Jimmy Young. I guess Ali is as great as Joe Lousi, SRR, Pacquaio or Floyd is. Depends on the perspective of the fan whose arguing? A true fan can exalt a fighter or diminish them.
