I honestly feel he had the talent to be a legit champion. Not like a Floyd Mayweather, but at least like an Ike Quartey kinda belt holder guy.

i used to love watching augustus

it was like something out of a comedy chop suey movie from the 80s like drunken master only with gloves

never seen anything like it before or since in my 50 years or so.

    he was pure entertainment .

+1 for Augustus, David Price, and David Allen. I find Amir Khan irritating out of the ring but love him as a fighter - instincts of a berserker warrior, chin of china. I used to always like to see Gavin Rees on a bill - never a dull fight. Had a soft spot for Tommy Coyle, Katsisdis, and Dirty Derry Matthews.

The drunken master could have been a champion. If he'd had a manager and a trainer from day one Take away the blatant robberies, home town decisions he'd still have had a respectable record today. he would fight anyone any where any time just give him time to get there.. I saw him fight many times .and I greatly admired him.
In my mind he should b enshrined in the HOF way before the cossetted and protected prima donnas who had to have boxing commissions and blatant corruption to keep there 0's intact

Couldnt help it, he seemed a proper good guy and he certainly carried some skill. I fell for his bull **** twice when he convinced me hed had a brain valet and was ready to come back and challenge the top guys again. What a massive sucker i was. I guess im just a fan.

Undoubtedly. I don't think I can come up with another fighter where almost every fight of theirs I've watched (and I've seen a ton of Augustus fights) they got screwed over on the cards. Rare exceptions being Kelson Pinto & Omar Weis are the couple that come to mind, where he should've been beaten on the cards.

Greg Haugen, Ruslan Provodnikov, Jimmy Young. I actually think Young was much better than given credit. I thought he beat Ali. He beat Foreman and Ron Lyle twice.
