Ive read lot of opinions that certain fighters will tarnish their legacy if they continue on fighting. But I think some fighters have already secured their status in boxing that even if they lose in their future bouts their legacy remains intact. Some of these boxers are:
    1. ODLH
    2. RJJ
    3. MORALES
    4. BARRERA
    5. TRINIDAD

    Calzaghe.

Nice thread by the way. I mis-read the title though.

   Welcome to planet Calzaghe....Id say if a 43 year old used to be good fighter clowns him like Barrera did Hamed I would say it does more than tarnish Joes legacy..

    No.

I totally mis-read the thread, I thought it was fighters whose legacy would be damaged if they lost in their remaining fights. It's early.

1.) Roy Jones - clearly not the same fighter as he once was
2.) Jose Louis Castillo - became shot after in the Corrales fights
3.) Oleg Maskaev- already has 5 brutal losses, classic overachiever
4.) Glen Johnson- has 11 losses, nuf said
5.) James Toney - been going downhill for a while

You kidding, right? PBF's next few fights he will really be placed under close scrutiny. He is still considered at the prime of his career.

It would tarnish Mayweather legacy if he REFUSED to fight Cotto in his prime. How does a fighter get a legacy in the first place?
He beats all the top contenders!
