Sometimes, the dirty tricks a fighter uses is a strength b/c they're smart and sneaky with it and use it effectively (Greb, Hopkins, Pedroza). For others, it may be a weakness b/c it gets them into trouble.

Terry Norris: DQ'd twice against Luis Santana.
    Andrew Golota: What a knucklehead
Riddick Bowe: Won by DQ against Tillery (should have been a no-contest IMO) and also had a no-contest versus Buster Mathis

Al "Bummy" Davis comes to mind. He was a rough and tumble welterweight of the 30's and 40's.In a 1940 fight with Fritzie Zivic, Al was repetedly fouled by the master of dirty tricks, Zivic.Bummy went ballistic and nailed Fritzie in the nuts about 10 times.Zivic had the common sense to commit his fouls out of view of the ref, but Davis had no such agenda. In fact, in his rage he also kicked the referee before attacking Zivic again. The Bumster got DQ'd, but never learned to control his temper. He was shot to death a few years later at the age of 27, while attacking a group of men that were holding up a tavern in Brooklyn.

Tony Galento had a knack for thumbing opponents in the eye. In fact, it even got him a good victory over Lou Nova once, which basically ended that referee's career.

The problem is, it often pissed fighters off, and resulted in Tony getting his fat ass pummeled....

I don't like the words dirty tactic.

I'm sure Holyfields headbutts were tactic, but to name one, Golota's fouling was not tactic, they were just as consequence of him being a ****ing lunatic.

Anyway, i think Golota takes the cake. Tyson later in his career too. Bowe indeed was lucky to get away with some of the **** he did.

Jack Sharkey lost a match for the vacant HW title he was sure to win. How could that be topped?

Golota is an obvious pick. Tyson in his 2nd career (first career he got away and used it smartly). Tyson had absolutely no motive to break Botha's arm, yet he went and damn near did in that clinch for no reason.

Galento was very dirty, he back handed Baer a few times.
