Cotto would not beat Duran at any weight. The guys who beat Duran were guy like Hearns, Benitez, Leonard. Duran would eat Cotto up and knock him out. Duran was overrated a bit but more his lightweight competition.

Or Cotto could catch Duran on a off day like Kirkland Laing did in 82 and win a decision.

Rocky Marciano, Gene Tunney, Jack Dempsey are all joke fighters. I could just say any fighter from that era or before are highly overrated.

Duran would beat Cotto everytime. It is not a style which Duran would lose to. No way.

Pryor had an iron chin and perhaps the greatest gas tank of all time. Hearns chin can't even come close to Pryor's.

This thread is about greatness. And Barrera is the only man to defeat a prime Erik Morales. That's saying a lot about his career.

Hearns was a greater fighter than Pryor, so was Duran. They fought more greats than Pryor did, that is what makes them greater. Longer careers.

Duran went up from 135 to 147 and beat Ray Leonard.

    He's not overrated. End debate.

This guy just wants to be different. He's the kind of guy who says Roberto Duran is overrated. The Beatles are trash. Michaelangelo is a mediocre artist. He would be that guy who would say these types of things.

Sure Hearns did fight the better fighters. So yes, even I would have to rate Hearns over Pryor. Even though I think Pryor had more ability than Hearns. Tommy just did more in his career.

But Pryor was the biggest boogeyman of the 80s. It's not a coincidence that Leonard wanted the tiny LW in Duran and the boxer puncher Hearns. He liked his chances in those fights more than he liked his chance against Pryor. A non stop pressure machine.
