Fighters whose plan was never influenced after getting HIT?

Many fighters lose their cool after being hit, as if it's audacious for their opponents to even consider hitting them. Erik Morales was the ultimate return fire fighter.

But who didn't come unravelled and change their tactics/gameplan?

Hmm.

Sans the Bruno fight I never saw a punch change McCall's gameplan. He was literally like a robot programmed to do one thing over and over and over again. Even in the Bruno fight he came on and out of his shell eventually.

 

Bernard Hopkins. Most other fighters would easily have got drawn into a slugfest against Trinidad during the early rounds. While Hopkins did start to move through the gears around the halfway stage, he still had discipline, and defense was on his mind while trading. Gradually taking Trinidad apart was always going to be part of Hopkins' gameplan. Fighting cautious around the perimeter of the ring in a similar manner to De La Hoya's tactical gamset against Trinidad wasn't authoritive enough for Hopkins' liking. With Trinidad always the type to be advancing towards his opponent, straight up and down, it was just a matter of time before Hopkins unleashed his heavy artillery.

The way Hopkins fought Calzaghe was always going to be done the way it was. Standing and slugging it out would have been very foolish, considering Calzaghe's workrate and combinations. Some other fighters with Hopkins' durability would have taken more punches than he did just to get some leather in themselves. Hopkins simply doesn't like to get hit for the sake of landing shots of his own, regardless if his opponent packs a wallop or not. Hopkins is smart enough to know that taking clean punches scores with the judges in favor of his opponent.

When this worked against him was against Taylor. He should have actually became an aggressor for the rematch. He made the same mistake he made the first time, which was being too tame. He never learned his lesson.
