Other than Martinez of course. Williams - Despite him getting a gift, he was competitive and does have a win on the record books against the lineal middleweight champion. Proves he is a legit elite fighter at 160. Cintron - Yeah he got his ass whooped, but he got whooped by the lineal middleweight champion. Proves the Angulo fight was no fluke and that Kermit is a serious elite fighter at 154. In fact Id consider the winner of Williams/cintron to be the guy to beat at 154 now. Margarito - This one is perplexing, it may drive his stock more downward proving that he did infact used plaster of paris longer than our projected time frame, but still a TKO win over the current lineal middleweight champion :scaredas:
:? Gary Lockett got 'whooped by the lineal middleweight champion' it's not usually considered a plus point.
After watching the fight, was impressed indeed with Martinez. I re-watched the Williams fight, it was indeed very close and a bit of a gift to PW. Agreed to Boom Boom though that Williams is a top dog for fighting that close against Martinez. What baffles me too is the Margarito TKO win over Martinez. Margo was 20-3 during then. To be honest, Pavlik shouldn't be ashamed loosing to the calibre of Martinez.
Good thread. Add to #4 that Margarito also handed Cintron, an elite fighter at 154lbs who is considered to be 1 hop away from being the guy to beat in the division, his worse loss 2x in his career.
cintron is a ****ing bum.... tired of people talking about cinron like he is some threat.... angulo is basically a ****ing amateur and people are trying to credit cintron like that was a good win.... IT WASN'T he barely goddamn beat angulo...
