You can't stand Ezzard Charles? Personally I think he is poetry in motion, Roldan and Limon were both very crude but they were in some great fights despite being ugly to watch.

I think its also useful to note how much more agressive Charles before killing Baroudi. In the second Marshall fight he really amazed me with his all round game.

Well, I won't say I "can't stand him", but I generally find him pretty boring to watch (too much clinching and awkward in-fighting, etc.), although he can impress me just as easily. I enjoyed his performance against Joe Louis, for example.

I get what your saying, but at the same time the majority of his filmed performances are well past prime and post Baroudi. Guys whose style I don't like are Berto, Jack Johnson and Kostya Tszyu a wide variety of picks i know

True, was actually just re-watching the film of a prime Ezzard vs Lloyd Marshall today after making that post. If only there were more of that Charles on film I doubt I'd be singing the same tune.

Each to their own but for me whilst Floyd doesn't have killer instinct his ability and counter punching for any lover of the sweet science is a joy to behold. His last fight against Mosley was also a pretty exciting and aggressive performance

I was referring to the post Tarver 2 version when he basically lost his mind and acted like fool in the ring ..

Before he fought Patterson he was dismissed as all those things by sports writers.

By who? The american press? what did they ever know about Ingo?
The same writers wrote before the first Patterson fight:
"The only mystical about Ingo`s mysterious right, is that it just does not exist".
    Dont believe everything you read....

I love the way Ingo played up that right hand of his...this was genius on his part. He would say that the right had a mind of it's own and talked of it in an almost mystical way...and for a little over 2-1/4 rounds he kept it hidden..building up the tension and mystery until it struck most unexpectedly..he kept it under wraps until the right opening came. That 1st fight with Patterson was a thing of beauty regarding that mystical "Hammer of Thor" right hand of his.
