Which fighters were the first used a 'non-classical' approach...some emphasizing physical attributes into a unique style of their own? Greb? Other's employing different stylistic approaches? Burley?...
It could be said Ali brought a different style to heavyweight...What other examples can you think of?...and how are they relevant to fighting today?

Ali just copy off of Billy Conn, Gene Tunney and Jim Corbett before him. Oh and Ray Robinson.

Mike The Bounty Hunter was a pleasuer to watch. The man was an original, thinking fighter who used brains and guile to win fights. I was a fan and would watch him whenever he was on tv.

Hurrican Jackson, heavyweight contender in the 50's. He gave Patterson a rather close fight pre-title.

Fellow poster here John Garfield has seen him in Stillman's gym, he described him accurately before. A tall, uncoordinated fighter whose biggest challenge was to get his limbs to obey him. People thought he was a disgrace when he sparred or "fought", but he kept winning fights on to contender status. Hopefully John Garfield is around to tell more.

Roy Jones Jr. seems to fit the bill.
