Fighters with a good/great chin, but cut or bleed easily?

    However, his chin wasn't exactly iron-clad. Perhaps a Carmen Basilio in his place?

    can i just say it is true that he cut horribly. but john h stracey was banging him differnetly against the ropes. there was a cut involved but napoles being trapped against the ropes as stracey was letting all hell loose didnt help.

    No, but he had a fairly decent chin, and would've probably had a better career if he didn't cut so easily.

    But he should not be on this thread.

    Sir 'enry's main problem was being outpointed and knocked out.

    After losing to Peter Bates on cuts in 1956, Cooper would only ever lose to Ali on cuts in the next 15 years; but would be outpointed four times; DQ'd once and knocked out four times.....

    I would agree with Rebel-INS there....

    Cooper fought at 190 or less, which was small even then for a Heavyweight; virtually everyone he fought had at least 10lbs on him.

    So Cooper to a point clearly must of been able to take a punch, to get the wins he did.

    Good call, although the propensity to cut didn't really develop until some of the later fights in his career.
