Who stands out for you as a fighter who did not have tons of fights yet beat a lot of good/ great names? Joe Frazier stands out to me. He beat Ali Bonavena Machen Jones Chuvalo Ellis Quarry Foster Bugner Mathis And a few other notable names. Impressive in 37 fights. Sugar Ray Leonard also stands out to me.
Sorry, I misunderstood. I just meant Dorsey had an insanely deep level of competition beginning from like his 7th pro fight. Lomachenko Hozumi Hasagawa had wracked up a resume that was pretty insane by the time he had like 30/33 pro fights. The level of competition trailed off quite a bit after that point though.
Spinks for sure. A probable top 5 all-time at 175 AND the lineal Heavyweight champion when it was still the biggest thing in sports in 32 fights. Incredible fighter.
Brother Leon would have had the greatest resume ever with the fewest number of fights if he had retired after defeating Ali! LOL!!
Jimmy Britt had only 21 fights but went 4-4-2 against 6 Hall of Famers (Kid Lavigne, Young Corbett II, Joe Gans, Battling Nelson, Packey McFarland, and Terry McGovern).
No one had as short a career with as impressive a name on his resume than Omar Amaya: http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/9469
Holyfield was the modern poster boy for quality over quantity. Cruiser champ in 12th bout, undisputed hw champ in his 25th.
