Also against Benn where a Benn uppercut caused a severe gash in Eubanks tongue. Instead of quitting or showing how hurt he was, Eubank swallowed copious amounts of blood and went on to knock Benn out.
You beat me to it in mentioning Benn. Especially peak Benn. The McClellan fight is one of the best examples that could be found for a thread like this.
Shannon Briggs is worth a mention took some licks against Lewis and vitali that would have put 99.9 of fighters in the ground especially in the vitali fight he didn’t even want to keep hitting him in the later rounds
WHY HAS ONLY ONE PERSON SAID ROCKY MARCIANO???? I don't think any fighter ever had the Will he had. "Rocky liked to say he felt more embarrassment than hurt those times he came so close to defeat. There were all those people from Brockton to think about. "They couldn't afford to see me lose," he said. "They couldn't afford those $25 seats. I always knew I would get up."
It's hard to separate iron will from physical ability to take brain damage though. For instance, if Froch had had even 10-20% less punch resistance he wouldn't have beat the count against Groves in round 1 and therefore would have no chance to show grit and come back in that fight. Meanwhile, Groves had the will to get to his feet after the Froch RH in the second fight, but his body couldn't continue. Wlad also showed will in his TKO defeats, he just kept getting up, time and again. But the fights were waved off.
Dustin Nichols Swaying side to side like an overloaded manure truck, taking all the **** Wilder was shoveling
JCC Sr, not just against Taylor but was still fighting exhibitions recently to drum interest in Jr. Now that's an iron will!
