Compubox is just some guys pushing buttons anyway. Pushing buttons while watching pro fighters who are extremely fast, often pull back from punches at the last moment.

I don't take the stats that seriously. I mean it had Tony Thompson outlanding Wladimir Klitschko in their first fight

Whitaker seemed tougher to hit in his prime than Mayweather. Mayweather had more longevity.

When focusing on defense, Mayweather is a better defensive fighter than Duran. But for seamlessly mixing offense and defense, Duran is better than just about anyone.

Mayweather has been very consistent in having elite defense, and the most he's ever been hurt was against Mosley. Sumbu Kalambay was knocked into another planet by Michael Nunn, a very talented fighter but one who normally had decent power, not a big puncher.

Mayweather has never been starched with one punch, hell the only official KD he suffered was from his own hand injury, and when his glove hit the canvas against Zab it was a balance thing. But Floyd has never had a defensive performance as impressive as Sumbu Kalambay had in his first fight against Mike McCallum.

He's never even fought anyone as good as Mike McCallum. Kalambay didn't just beat McCallum, he put on one of the best defensive displays ever.

A prime De La Hoya could barely touch Sweatpea. A crude Maidana touched Floyd up frequently. Some big shots in there also.

floyd and whitaker are in the discussion. thats for sure. but one thing pernell may have speech problems but his defense was truly great. your thinking well how good can his defense be if he has speech problems from getting cracked in the head to much?(which is prolly partially true but im sure the cocaine and beer does help the speech problems) well once he learned from his mistakes and faced adversity in the ring in the gym or watever. then continued to work on what he needed to work on to become great . his abilitys were off the charts. and keep in mind floyd is still young. idk when pernel gotten his speech problems but dont think floyd cant get it either. imo he already is slightly punch drunk . i can tell floyd got his in the head a few times when he talks. and its not gonna get better.

Hopkins had excellent defense but he's have taken more punishment in his career by a few fighters if Hopkins hadn't faked fouls and outright quit in those fights.
Funny that he played that role ti'll his very last fight. Knocked out of the ring, he went out claiming he was fouled out. LOL!

When the going got rough, Hopkins would quit where Mayweather would have stuck it out to weather the storm.
The Castillo and Maidana fights are all fights where had that been Hopkins in there instead of Mayweather, Hopkins would have found a way to tangle himself with his opponent, go down to the Canvas and claim he cant continue.

Mayweather by far superior in most aspects than Bernard Hopkins.

Lomachenko has the best defense in the last 20 years, he is one of the most offensive boxers you can imagine and yet he gets hit less than any currently active boxer, if he stuck to a purely defensive counter punching style like Floyd did I'm sure he'd almost never get hit, thought his reach is not good for this style.

You're post doesn't make much sense. A guy that got slammed on his shoulder injuring it, but continued to fight, stopping his opponent a round or two later, isn't a quitter. A 75 year old, who is getting bested by a prime power punching killer, but continues for the full 12 rounds, taking some big shots along the way, isn't a quitter. The fact that he continued to fight while injured in the Echols fight, and took Kovalev the distance, quashes all of that quitter talk. I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt for the Allen fight, which he ran back immediately, and the Dawson fight, which he also ran back immediately. He's shown more balls than 99% of the boxers out there.

Mind you Hopkins, would have never been in that position against Castillo, or Devon Alexander's son. I don't recall a crude brawler ever knocking one of Hopkins teeth out, like what Devon's son did to Floyd at the end of that one round.
