Fighters With Little To No Heart...

Tyson had heart, nobody takes what he took off Holyfield in that first fight if you havent got heart .. He was entrenched in a bully mentality though, only ever really comfortable when he's coming forward, never happy on the back foot, so when he did have to back off he was there to get beaten up. Im not sure why Naz is being labelled a guy with no heart, he took shots and always got up from a knockdown, i'd question his level of opposition but that was down to HBO ..

Michael Moorer

But hey i have the ultimate respect for all fighters so for me to suggest a lack of heart in fighters doesnt really sit right with me ..
I dont think Cotto in particular likes a tough fight, he seems to only be comfortable if he's controlling the pace of the fight, that Margarito fight was a fairly quick turn around from when Cotto was on top ..

How the **** didnt Moorer have heart? He never quit in brutal fights against Cooper, and Holyfield!

 

Agreed. Moorer had heart and more so than that he always had 100% confidence that he could knock his opponent out, thus he never got discouraged in a fight he was losing.

Even after losing to Foreman he showed heart against Holyfield (the second time), Botha, Jirov.

If you were to say he had little dedication outside the ring then you might be right but inside the ring he showed heart numerous times.

I tend to think that any fighter who cuts it at world level must have substantial reserves of what we call heart.

Tszyu was a beast, fought tough comp' from the start ducked no one and fought pretty much all his career overseas in the other guys backyard.

I don't know how he lacked heart?, there is no shame in calling it quits and keeping your health, as these guys have to have a life after their careers are over.

 

Been reading a book about 90s heavyweights and the name Yuri Vaulin came up. I remember him being around years ago but never saw any of his fights, the example mentioned about him was the John Sargent fight when he quit in the last round despite having a healthy lead on points.

But like a few have mentioned previously, I don't feel good commenting on others percieved lack of heart when I've never even laced them on myself.
