Every fighter hates to be hit It's the core of the art. hit them more than they hit you. Some can laugh, smile or shrug off big hits but still getting hit is no fun...unless your opponent possesses feather fists where the damage isn't the worry...
I guess you mean fighters that are good at and have a style to avoid punishment but can take it well when they do get caught? Mayweather is the obvious example.
Hopkins by far very good defense and can't easy be hit but getting hammered by one of the most feared fighter in the word and at 47 is amassing that's true great chin, James Toney too very defensive but dam His neck is thick.
Understood, but what the OP is driving at is some guys could get away with soaking up a few more and maybe having more offensive success in the bargain, yet are so averse to getting hit (despite having the ability to handle it) they just opt not to.
Yeah, Mayweather is the first and foremost example. Crawford, since he began stepping up in class. (on the way up he used to showboat a lot more and leave his chin hanging out to laugh off the combos of journeymen) Román González, too. His chin is very good (down once, nine years ago, six months into his career) and has fought mostly world class opposition from straw through super fly since 2008 - yet he is careful not to ship too much punishment, using the defensive blueprint of his idol and mentor Argüello for a 'starter kit' but augmented with greater movement than Argüello ever had.
Shane Mosley I believe exemplifies this, well beyond proven chin, but he visibly reacts whenever he gets hit clean.
True, with his facial expressions he clearly hates the feeling - but he's never particularly careful to avoid having it happen. :yep
