I'll nominate Joey Maxim if he hasn't been mentioned yet. He was ko'ed just once, by the fearsome Curtis Sheppard...just a couple of weeks later avenged that defeat and was never stopped again...and he fought some real badasses.

 

Another perennial favorite of mine, Willie Pastrano, was ko'ed only once, by Jose Torres at the the very end of his career..and was actually down for the first time in this fight...by a body shot no less. Willie was never decked by a head shot in his career.

 

Johnny Dundee, who in 335 bouts was stopped twice only. First one was a fluke,rebounding off the ropes against Willie Jackson.

 

have to say harry greb, who was knocked out by joe chip VERY early in his career. he also retired in a fight due to a shoulder injury but only one clean knockout from my understanding

 

The ref said Molinares threw the punch before the bell went...

 

The ref was Larry Hazard who, when on camera, kept saying the punch was in motion when they continually replayed it. It was comical because everyone could clearly see he did not start winding the punch up until the bell rang. Hazard was so arrogant and so obstinate he made himself look like a bufoon by repeatedly saying the punch was in motion. I laughed at the post fight interviewer (was it Merchant? I do remember him interviewing Starling afterwards so it must have been him), after replaying it for the umpteenth time for Hazard, said, "Well there you have it, the referee says it was in motion even though it was obvious it was not." The next day Hazard admitted (when the cameras were off of him) that the punch was thrown after the bell. Ergo, the no-contest ruling.

I agree with the principle that Lewis has a solid chin, but using the Ruddock & Grant fights as examples of his chin toughness seems very strange to me. Neither of those men landed a powerpunch to his head, because Lewis didn't give them a chance. The Mason, Mavrovic, Akinwande, Mercer & Tucker fights are however good demonstrations of Lennox's chin, which you didn't mention.
