You're crazy as hell if you think that Jirov beat Toney. Give me a round by round scoring. I'll try to locate the fight, watch it, and then explain to you just how wrong you are.
Where did I say that Jirov beat Toney? If you need a prescription to Lenscrafters that bad, why didn't you say so?
Because it was an extremely competitive fight that on many scorecards came down to the final 2 rounds of the fight?
You can add the first Peter fight to that list as well as the Rahman fight. I actually thought Rahman took that one by one or two rounds, but some people didn't so it's probably a close one. Maybe i'm mixing a few fights up, but i thought the Griffin fights were close as well.
Gene Fullmer retained his title twice on 15 round draws. He drew another in a return try for his title. But for scraping by, Ben Villaflor seems to lead the pack. In title fights his record is 5-2-3. 3 times he retained his title on a draw and one of his wins was a split decision. I think there was a bit of lady luck shining down on Ben, especially in the first fight with Serrano. Scartissue
Without a doubt, but I was under the assumption that the close calls were supposed to be Toney wins. If not, then you could easily include McCallum I, Peter I, Griffin I and II, and Rahman.
It depends what is counted as a close call. You had him beating Hagler, but it was a split decision that many have Hagler winning. The draw vs Hearns which you mentioned. The first fight with Hearns as well; had Leonard clearly behind on points and needing a knockout to win. He did it, but it was a close call.
