I was born in 1992. The fighters with the most intense and passionate fanbases of my lifetime have definitely been Manny Pacquiao and Felix Trinidad. The only two fighters where I've seen what basically amounted to mania and pandemonium.

I thought about Mike Tyson, but after the prison stint and Buster Douglas upset the fanbase never regained that type of passion.

RJJ, Erik Morales, Evander Holyfield would be in the next tier of passionate fanbases. And then it's sort of everybody else after that.

Not sure about Holy, he’s actually viewed with balance imo.
Ali is no1 without a doubt. People are offended in genuine match ups, like it’s disrespectful to even match him up

Well I remember with Holyfield the fans would be crazy during his fights and generated a ton of passion and excitement with the audience.

I mean I guess, but I'm talking about what fighter had the most diehard fans not how they rate.

I agree entirely, Holy was my fav fighter, in Australia he didn't have a big fan base. Tyson of course was huge due to many 'casual' fans.

Pac and Mayweather by far, but they benefited from the internet. Imagine if peak Tyson was competing today? The internet would explode.

Definitely Felix “Tito“ and his Puerto Rico fan base. Good comparison is with my man fellow Puerto-Rican Miguel Angel Cotto loved by his countrymen a great fighter and dignified man who only brought honour and integrity to the sport of boxing. Whereas the people not only loved Tito they were in love with Tito.

My Uncle Azumah Nelson in Ghana and AAfrica greatly loved an icon in his lifetime.

    Roberto Duran no explanation needed.

Mohammed Ali beloved all over the world nothing needs to be said.

I don't think Mayweather's fans were that passionate or intense. He was a big draw, but his fanbase never had the fire of fighters like Pac or Tito.

Pac and Floyd surely come to mind.
With both you couldn't say anything against them because you would be bombarded with death threats (Pac) in most extreme cases, or completely nonsensical oneliners (Floyd) repeated a 100 times over, even when it had nothing to do with what you said or with anything at all.

Trust me, the Tyson fan base didn't really lose that much even after Buster and jail.
Probably because he was the most colorful character in boxing for years, long after his prime had vanished.

How has no one mentioned Ricky Hatton yet? His fanbase was nuts!
