Based on the majority of the replies I would guess most of those posting became boxing fans post-DLH's prime.

Not sure if the OP meant intense or intensive, but either way, it doesn't get more intense/intensive then to get 130K+ rabid fans under the same roof to watch one of your fights as Chavez did in 1993 vs Haugen.

Yeah, it seems that way. No one boxing today compares to what this board went through in the 2000's in regards to intense fans.

    Pac
    Canelo
    Golovkin
    Usyk

I can only go by this forum, as I dont get much boxing exposure outside of the forum. But on this forum I would say these fighters stand out to me as having the most vocal and overhyped fans.

Usyk? He had very big exposure at CW.
Now he didn't had so called marquee fights.
Okey, he after Briedis fight before Gassiev fight had appeared injured and still defeated Gassiev.
Then happened this Whiterspoon and after very long time Chisora.
Better if he was now 29-30 years old in his prime of course.

Not only that, they'd make him the home fighter anywhere he went and they'd bring that hometown atmosphere too. Best fanbase bar none.

I always loved the singing the Brits do in the crowds. We Americans have nothing on that.

I agree. Who could pull that crowd thousands of miles. I can’t think of anyone

To add an example to my Josh Warrington mention. Understandably way lesser known than Hatton, but a world champion. Electric atmosphere

Yeah has to be May/Pac for me.

The Pac and Mayweather heat on here during the years when they should've fought (instead of 5 years too late) was endless.

Nobody in the uk has bettered Hattons fan base. Warrington at one point looked promising but lost momentum. AJ also not far behind

Mike Tyson fans are the most fanatical and hysterical that I've come across in any sport. They are similar to Wilder fanboys (who I've hardly heard a peep out of since last February) in terms of intellect. What's odd is that they seem to worship thuggery, cannabis and all of that sort of pitiful stuff.

They completely overrate him - but I believe that's more in denial than in delusion. Nobody can seriously think he's as good as he's made out to be when he lost every time he stepped up. Scared-stiff-Spinks, (scared)-stiff-Bruno and the Ghost of Holmes are probably his top 3 wins.
