No. I only included the part in my quote that I was asking about.

Or when he chinned Tubbs in TWO rounds with one punch. The same Tubbs that took everything Bowe threw.
Or Berbick in two. The same Berbick who took Holmes the distance and Tyson is one of only two fighters to stop him.
First boxer to stop Pumpkin as well.

    Pryor
    Olivares
    Zarate
    Gomez

Let's be clear; ALL these guys could hit, and hit hard. I am not calling them featherfists. All of them were pure combination punchers though. Their "paralyzing" power wasn't, really. Their combinations of fairly hard shots overwhelmed opponents.

LOL, He couldn't kayo Ruddock nor Ribalta, and Mercado put undefeated Berbick to sleep with ONE punch, and that version of Berbick is way better than the Berbick that Tyson fought.

And how many punches that Tyson needs to drop Pinklon Thomas actually? yeah, a lot.

Mercado could crack if nothing else.
Ruddock was pretty tough and still got dropped.
    Tyson could punch.
Notice you skipped Tubbs who fought Witherspoon,Bowe yet Tyson iced him with one shot.
Ribalta when he was coming up was very tough and actually if you watch his fight vs Tyson he gave it a go. Still got stopped but he left it all in the ring.

You simply have to be kidding. Berbick was in his 12th pro fight! He'd fought a bunch of low level fighters and gained very little experience. Two fights later he drew with 21-18-3 Leroy Caldwell.

Berbick won 9 in a row culminating with the win over Pinky and the streak including Bey who was coming off a reasonable showing against Holmes and Blood Green who was about to take a young Tyson 10.

Berbick was no-where near the fighter he was against Thomas. Boxing 101.

I say that becuz Berbick's resilience and chin was much durable during that time. Dude's 7 years younger than the version that Tyson fought.
He may be green, but he's much more durable at the time.

Get's KO'd in 1 by a journeyman then doesn't get stopped until 7 years later after beating #2 heavyweight yet his chin is "much more durable"? I would have cut my losses. You are bending over backwards to take credit away from Tyson and it shows.

Also note your wording was "that version of Berbick is way better than the Berbick that Tyson fought."

Let us stop using how soon someone stops whoever as an indication of power.
For the one zillionth time (many others need to remind people...)
KOs are only in part from power.
Accuracy. Combinations. Volume. Defense & endurance to get there. Etc.

There are also a bunch of misguided, agenda driven responses here.
Tyson-he is sometimes overrated for power, but not by that much. Because he likely hit a 9 of 10, but the speed accuracy & combinations mae him more effective still.

Foreman overrated, smh. He was not as fast & efficient with his hands as Tyson, so people could brace for & see his shots coming. But anyone thinking his sheer concussive force is not Top Notch...I wonder what color the sky is in their world?
Ditto with Shavers. It is tiresome when old timers always rate fighters of their youth highest.

It is also wearying & irrational when modernistas always name more recent, bigger fighters as better in all respects.
With a flawed delivery system & limited overall skills, Shavers power was overwhelming. IF not harder than certain SHWs, certainly the hardest for his size.
People who dismiss *everyone*, win or lose, who fought him saying that he hit the hardest, or assume just because later fighters were taller or had more redundant muscle they must hit harder...

    Foolishness.
Yeah Galento hit extremely hard, you can see how much force & surprising speed he generates with fully committed blows.
Some act like it is a sin to rate a lesser fighter as hitting harder than a greater one.
WA Joe Louis or Mike Tyson would admit that certain fighters hit harder than them-why can't some here?
Agendas & attachments to their preconceptions. AKA, prejudices.
