Im disappointed Finesse as you add some good posts, but gooner really pointed out some basic flaws that AA would need to address , the biggest for me was the squaring up of the shoulders , this just gives your opponent so much more of a target to go at. Hatton was a big culprit of this also , this squaring up means you are open to heavy body shots , and that is what both Froch and Mayweather took advantage of.
0.20 Take a look at AA's feet in this position, and think to yourself, does he look like he could throw a straight right hand, rotate all the way into punch and not fall in? cause from what I can see, its looks as though he would be liable to reach, due to that back foot being to underneath him, the front toe pointing too much, which might explain why AA does not always throw straight hands, but arks them, its less likely to leave him off balance. I train my son, and he was always falling off balance when he threw the straight right hand cause he would let his back foot get underneath him, so when he tried to get the extension and rotate into the right hand, he would often fall in, or off balance. Nah , its no worries , you just post some good points everytime you are on , but made something which is important sound irrelevant.
Froch and Vitali are just awkward but I wouldn't say their footwork is that bad. Vitali's footwork helps him especially when he fights guys who are coming forward. He makes little side steps here and there that throws off their rhythm.
I agree,Pav needs to learn how to fight tall.Kelly needs to work on his legs(footwork)and how to fight tall, and get that jab working more to set up the big straight right hand. Basically,he needs Manny Steward in his corner.
He never caught him with a right hand. He threw a pawing jab and stepped on Floyd's foot and tripped him.
Hatton was eating most of the clean shots at all ranges. When Cortez allowed them to fight up close and work in and out of the clinches, Floyd got the better of it. He continuously dug in that right uppercut to the body with the free hand. Hatton was throwing that leaping left hook throughout the fight, not just toward the end of the fight. Manny Steward pointed it out as early as round 2 or 3, talking about Floyd countering it with a check hook. Mayweather hurt him with it in round 8, and finished it in the 10th. Hatton fell in love with that punch after the KO of Maussa. That punch cost him post-Mayweather as well. The beginning of the end for Hatton was in the 8th round, and it had little to do with Hatton being desperate. Mayweather was just opening up more, after having gradually weakened Hatton with shots to the body and head as well. He landed a nice right uppercut on the inside, then landed more hard shots a few seconds later. He runs neck and neck with Taylor. Paul Williams & Jermain Taylor have the worst footwork Ive ever seen in world class fighters, and are in a 3 way tie with Con as having the 3 lowest ring IQ's of any world class fighters. Allen Green doesnt count.... cause he's a bum. My little sister would kick the **** outta Green.
