Fighters with the worst records in title fights

By no means the worst but arguably one of the most unlucky is Liverpool Bantam Alan Rudkin. Alan lost wafer thin decisions against Fighting Harada in Tokyo and Lionel Rose in Melbourne.
Slightly past his best, he got smoked by a young and terrifying Ruben Olivarez at the Olympic. Alan's Son was a member on here.

 

If the Gomez fight ….the Chavez fight …and the first Pedroza had gone his way ( and it wouldn’t be a robbery if they did ) … then Rocky Lockridge would be a top 100 fighter

 

All three were at their best too. I have the greatest of respect for Lockridge. He deserved so much better from life after Boxing.

 

Man Iran Barkley won the WBC, WBA and IBF titles (one at each of three weights) yet lost to Kalambay, Duran, Nunn, Benn, Toney and Maske at three different weights for different belts. Definition of a warrior fighting EVERYBODY, and the Duran and Nunn fights were close as hell, and Kalambay over 15 rounds in Italy!

Barkley should get more love, what a throwback warrior. What he took from Tommy Hearns (and still Won) was worse than Jake took from Ray at St Val day mass

 

Even non-title six-rounders of Barkley were all-time great wars (v Sims). When predicted to lose against flash magazine stars Olajide and Van Horn he simply scared the **** out of them and bashed them out.
