We all know Floyd Mayweather and to the lesser extent Ivan Calderon get a lot of the publicity regarding being defensive prodigies. However, there are a lot of fighters with quality defense that get little-to-know pub. Who are some fighters with underrated defense? I'll throw out one, Joseph Agbeko....he has a pretty versatile defense especially since he has a reputation as a brawler, he can slip punches well, obviously he can parry, when he's at his best his head is almost always moving(for some reason this wasn't happening against Perez) he utilizes the shoulder roll, the high guard, and even the cross-arm defense. Who else is out there?
If we go off his most recent fight... I have to say Froch (although it burns my very soul to admit it).
Wladimir Klitschko. Even in the worst of eras, people with unreliable chins don't dominate like this unless they are very, very difficult to hit cleanly.
Audley Harrison. Made it to the third round throwing only 1 jab. Only explanation is his great defense.
Cotto. Posters on this board make it out like he blocks punches with his face, but he slips and catches punches rather well. Watch the first 5 rounds of the Margarito fight.
