Been said already but regardless of your opinion on Calzaghe you can't deny that the man had an incredible engine.

Any slow fighter. Incredible stamina, they could fight 100 rounds and beat nobody. If a fighter doesn't have enough stamina for a bout they are simply poorly trained, there's no excuse for it.

That man could slap all night with his arms. If he could actually throw proper power punches at the rate he throws his slaps then I'd be impressed. I'd consider David Haye to have better stamina, as he can actually throw repeat power punches. If you lower the intensity/power of your punches then you use less muscle and there's less of a demand on your body. I don't call that stamina, I call that being good at being weak for a long time.

Willie Pep, Tommy Loughran, Emile Griffith, Ivan Calderon, and Pernell Whitaker probably don't respect your opinion.

I've often notice with surprise how Floyd, and in fact, Floyd's whole stable of fighters, look as fresh as daisies in the 10th or 12 round. It is truly amazing how well conditioned they are, and what modern strength and conditioning training have done for their stamina.

Preserving stamina is one of the benefits of boxing without an emphasis on power or combination punching.

Floyd semi Economic style preserves his stamina so to mention him is silly IMO

Of all active fighters who have been recorded by Compubox, nobody has fewer punches landed against him and only Hopkins throws less punches per round.

Both of those, not getting hit and not throwing high quantity of punches, are crucial elements toward being fresh by the end of a fight.

I don't even see how you could begin to question any of this.
