Agreed marg is a damn beast. Only fight he gassed a bit was the mosley fight where he really shouldn't have stayed at 147 with his frame. I think ridiculous stamina was shown in pac vs marquez 2. Both fighters were throwing monster shots throughout.

Martinez was a professional cyclist until the age of 20, when he approached boxing. Stamina is a natural asset of him.

What does cycling have to do with boxing? And is it 'natural' or did he get it from cycling?

Antonio Margarito had truly amazing stamina and work rate I think he threw over 1500 punches againdr Clottey which broke some kind of record. Another fight which really impressed me was Ali vs. Fraizer 1 after 15 rounds at an intense pace they both looked like could do more.

Calzaghe, Froch, Pacquiao and Mayweather are others who deserve a mention.

Everytime you throw punches, you open yourself up to get punched. It is a risk. That is why certain fighters don't open up like Mayweather and Hopkins because they feel they can win fights without opening up.

Vitali, throwing 700+ punches or 300 power puches per fight.
Not too bad for a 250lb guy

Young Pacquiao, Pryor, Armstrong, Juan Diaz prime, Frazier

People forget that Pac use to fight 3 min of every round for 12 rounds. Not only that but he would average an output of around 1000 punches, whilst taking punches himself, whilst constantly jumping in and out like a kangaroo, whilst constantly moving his upper body and throwing bombs. You couldn't have a more stamina taxing style. And this was Pre-Ariza.

Well his defense is not in question. There is a reason when fighters get beat up or tired, they go on the backfoot and opt to box and less output, just look at Cotto, that's cos they have ran out of gas.

It's obviously much easier to look fresh at the end of the fight when you've engaged less thus thrown less punches and got hit less. Even the shoulder roll position uses up less energy, I usually end up in it when I'm completely gassed as its easier than holding your hands up and you see other fighters do it too.

For my last bout I knew I didn't train enough and so didn't have the stamina, I chose to fight as a counterpuncher limiting the engagement so I can control the pace and make through 3 rounds. You see guys like BHop who is an old man do this, he goes 12 rounds easily because he controls the pace and slows it down. Even when Floyd is in a fast paced fight, he's usually not the one expending energy, ala Maidana.

Ike Ibeabuchi. Crazy ******* stood in the phonebooth and went full tilt against David Tua for all 12 rounds, setting a record for number of punches thrown in a HW bout.

Sergio was pretty damn impressive against Chavez jr. According to Compubox he outhrew him 908 to 390. And he moved around a lot too.
All that at the age of 37
