He was obviously being sarcastic but you underestimate the mental strength of Liston and Tyson respectfully. You don't become a Heavyweight champion without mental fortitude. Mike Tyson, when you look at his life, his personal tragedies with loss of loved ones his life in a fishbowl under the kind of public scrutiny that has been known to send Hollywood actors into rehab; to maintain his title and to continue to fight the way he fought takes some mental strength. There is nothing in Tyson's pre-prison career that would make your above statement accurate.
