jcc. i'll admit i hated him for a long time...mostly cause of the taylor fight. but looking back at his career he was just amazing. the perfect example of a mexican warrior. greatest pressure fighter of all time
I think quite a few people would say Lennox Lewis and so will I. As the old addage goes 'you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone'.
Hopkins. He was kind of obscure during his peak. I didn't fully appreciate him until the Tarver fight. I do acknowledge now that he is a great fighter and I went back and watched a lot of his pre trinidad stuff. If I had seen that I wouldn't have picked Tito to beat him. I still think he sucks for being such a ***** in the RJJ negotiations though.
Lewis - he wasn't really cocky but the way he talks just annoys me. He just sound so damn cocky now that his retired i appreciate him more especially how the heavyweight have suck the last couple of years.
Oh yeah, without doubt. He was a classy fighter who could bang aswell.... really reminds me of the modern day version of Gene Tunney.
I never had a problem with his talking until he suddenly swtiched and tried to sound jamaican after the Vitali fight. Dude's been talking with a british accent for the past 15 years and suddenly sounds like a rasta.
Check the post-Rahman 2 interview with Merchant. Embarrassing. Still, since when does a fighter not sound "cocky"? Meh. I appreciated Lewis, but not enough.
