I thought Sergei Liakhovich was going to be a great champion after he got off the floor to beat Brewster. That was his last impressive performance.
I actually have been right only once in regards to hyping a boxer, Tim Tszyu fighting Horn within the year and winning , i was shot down by everyone!
I was once a Wilder fan who swore he'd end up as the best in the division and beat Joshua and Fury. God, that was a regrettable period. I was also a big Saunders fan, and I thought he'd beat GGG, Canelo, etc; now I doubt whether I'll need two hands to count the top fighters he'd fought by the time his career's over. In terms of older fighters I overrated, the two who stand out big time are Pryor and McClellan. I had them as the best ever in their divisions, H2H (SMW for McClellan). Imagine that.
William Guthrie back in the late 90s until he got out to sleep on national TV by old man Reggie Johnson
Mosley had a nice career though. Once he lost his speed that was kind of it for him though. Idk why he seemed so much faster Delahoya fights and pre then he did after
Dillian Whyte For a brief peroid in 2018, I thought Dillian was the the no.1 HW contender in the world & would have a good chance of beating AJ in a rematch, had a 50/50 chance of beating Fury, Wilder, Ortiz & made him the favourite over all the other top 10 or ranked HW's...Then he gets strached by old man Povetkin. I should have seen the signs from the Helenius, Parker, Rivas & even the Chisora fights - that the writing was on the wall for Whyte.
