Hagler a little bit since at that point he would have been tested more -since people would have seen how he was beaten by Ray, and they saw how he fought his best, so the blueprint was found on him by the time he retired. Then we could have seen how he did in that setting and how he could have adjusted, and that shows something about guys. With Hearns for example, the blueprint was sort of found after Hagler, and he kept fighting so guys found more success so Hearns sort of changed his style a little and used his legs less, and he showed some greatness by adjusting like with Hill. Would Hagler have adjusted again? For Hagler himself, he retired at the perfect time.

I believe in Zack's case, the decision was made when they found something cerebrally wrong, like some dormant aneurism or something. I believe he was retired by the California Commission.

Spot on, and it was a shame, as Zack deserved a big pay day against one of the superstars at or around his weight.

    Tsuyoshi Hamada.

Guess hand injuries couldn't be helped, though.

He was slurring his words for weeks after Provodnikov and went on to fight Marquez and Pac twice.
