Yordenis Ugás. It's weird; he's technically sound, has solid (enough) power, and I always get down with stories of someone escaping the commies. But his fights man. You just get the sense that he could step on the gas pedal at any time and we'd have something exciting on our hands, but it never happens.
I do not know is Briedis now watchable anymore but if his younger version and if talking about overrating, he is less overrated than plenty of US boxing idols. At least he fought everyone he had been given to fight in BB semi pro torunaments without cherry picking up his opponents and massive PR campaigns based on U.S fanbase mercy and patriotism. Did not had put his opponents on rehyration clause and sometimes catchweight clause like some boxing GOATs . 30 y.o Briedis was not worse than 32 years old undefeated Povetkin. Now ofc they both are older etc. Povetkin is old now, Briedis maybe too. Regards to Gassiev, he is better than Dorticos because he delivered Dorticos out of the ring with punches. He is younger than Dorticos and Briedis, therefore if he will improve, he might smash in powder not only Dorticos again but also some HW guys too.
Terrance crawford for me. He should be doing more. A lot of that is because of arum in my opinion. I just don't enjoy his fights or his competition. I understand he is a talent, i just need to see him perform that way against better competition.
Madrimov is getting a lot of hype these days but for some reason I just don't like his style and don't care.
Andre Ward. Just a horrid style to watch most of the time, although his last performance against Kovalev was pretty impressive right up until he triple nutted him to end the fight. The Kessler fight in particular turned me right off him with the blatant use of the head, almost ending Kesslers career and barely getting a warning. Wilder for being elevated to such dizzying heights by his fans after beating a veritable host of pastry chefs, Uber drivers, doormen, club Fighters and a truck load of bloated, overweight and undersized former SMW's and then on top of all that, the guy had to go and open his mouth. I loved Ricky Hatton in his early career as he had an exciting style and never took a backward step and I think it was around the Collazo fight that he started to become a bit of a Diva, constantly talked about himself in the third person and was just becoming a bit whiny and full of himself. I think things started to go wrong for him when he fell out with Billy Graham.
Fury. I find his personality really irritating and his punching power mostly absent (though he scored some nice shots in Wilder II). The aforementioned Wilder fight is by far his most impressive win and it's indeed a great victory. Beating a years-past-it Klitschko didn't wow me at all. To me Wilder is easily the most interesting and exciting heavy out there.
Jeffrey Mayweather. It always perplexed the hell out of me how Floyd was the one who received all the hate when Jeffrey is far and away the biggest POS out of all the members of the Mayweather boxing dynasty
Gervonta Davis (ducker extraordinaire) Andre Ward (stay at home coward) Larry Holmes (hard to pin down, but just unappealing) Lennox Lewis (obnoxious arrogance) Chris Eubank Sr. (manner of speaking) Adrien Broner (talks alot, but rarely shows up in fights) Joe Calzaghe (pitty pat style)
