Not to be so negative or anything, but these are always interesting threads. Which fighters throughout history do you actively not like? Why?

For me, it's Bobby Czyz and Vinny Pazienza.

One because he's an egomaniac who has somehow built up this image of himself as a boxing legend despite being very carefully managed and who had land mines blow up in his face every time he had to fight anybody halfway decent. Unless I'm discounting the virtues of the legendary Slobodan Kacar. Possible, I suppose. He's also very careful to remind us how very different (read; better) than other fighters he is because he's a Mensa member. This sets him apart you see, we couldn't possibly understand.

The other because he's just a hyped-up roid head who again fell short against anyone really good but insists on bathing in glory that isn't really his.

At the IBHOF Banquet, Vinny Paz was shamelessly lobbying for his induction into the hall. Thankfully Czyz wasn't there to do likewise. I was there with a buddy who is friends with, and a former sparring partner of, Prince Charles Williams. He and I have enjoyed watching Prince Charles shut Bobby Czyz's trap on many occasions.

Bobby has had a hard row to hoe. Last I heard, he was bagging groceries and living in a small apartment. There are definitely some lingering effects of his career and car accidents and alcoholism. And anybody who knows his story knows his upbringing was troubled.

I really did not like Paz, tho.

    Rocky Marciano...

I kid, I think Mayweather and McGregor are both twats outside of the sport, but in there they are both very good at what they do.

I really don't like Canelo and how he does things, I think he's good to watch but I pretty much sum up everything wrong with him here

Luis Ortiz is by far the most overrated fighter today, who's he beat? What's he done? I think he's just a flat footed old man with average power.

I think Jack Dempsey is unbelievably overrated. I love his story tho so I don't know if that counts.

    Deontay Wilder is becoming one.

Out of curiosity, why do you actively hate Marciano?

I used to really hate Sugar Ray Leonard. I was so glad when Camacho knocked him out.

I hated Chris Eubank Snr up To the point when he fought Calzaghe.

After that fight, I appreciated how much of a warrior he was.

Zab Judah was the quintessential guy for me, because his personality was so abrasive, but at the same time he was phenomenal to watch, so it really was a 'love to hate' dynamic where I even enjoyed watching when he sparked the other guy.

But with time that went away. I'd always known Zab as the god-gifted phenom who was groomed for big things, so it was really strange when he switched over to being sort of a stepping stone. This happened after the loss to Cotto more or less. It was sad because he was pretty open about only fighting for money. Before the Clottey fight he said he was fighting because he had to buy his daughter a car :(
